The Person of Wisdom

When Jesus Trod the Earth

Chapter one

Jesus Christ is the Son of God born of the Virgin Mary.

His birth was unusual; the only one ever born of a virgin which involved the Trinity. God ordained it, and the Holy Ghost conceived it.

When Jesus trod the earth in human form, there were many controversies. Many thoughts ran through the heart of man. The earth felt the impact and wondered about who trod on it. Nevertheless, His time on earth was missionary wise. People found it difficult to believe who He was; thus, they called Him names that they probably thought He was. The metamorphosis is that though He is God, He was a man. He identified Himself with man, and He thought it not robbery to be equal with God. He humbled himself.

He was original, but He never originated, and He is not counterfeit. He spoke as a man, saw as a man but had an immense supernatural intellect that made the difference. The light that radiated in and through Him was from beyond, and the light in Him was the light that lightens the world. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men John 1:4.

He was the man that worked upon the sea, and the sea could not drown him because of His authority. He said; I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was, when there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Proverbs 8:23 & 24.

Being absolute, He was degraded for the sake of humanity. We have no objection whatsoever about who He is. Though some understood Him to be the highest, which He is, some never comprehended. Jesus never abstained Himself from the biblical truth, which was Him in words. Even though He was the nature and reality of the Godhead, He presumed Himself to be lowly and meek in heart.

Chapter two

Jesus, known as the Saviour of the world, was kind, humble, loving, full of compassion and lowly in heart, a man that never sinned. If using His blood could wash away sin, what about the vessel in which the blood flows. It tells me that sin was parallel to the vessel. No wonder Jesus could not sin. It was impossible for Him to sin. The precious and powerful blood was flowing in Him. Sin could not withstand Him, and death could not hold Him captive. The life of the flesh been in the blood (Leviticus 17:11), tells me that the energy in the precious blood of Jesus is supernational, eternal, powerful and abundant. Jesus said I have come to give life and give it more abundantly. The blood of Jesus is not ordinary. God so much values it. When no one could open the book, only the Lamb of God could open it. How powerful, authentic, and holy His blood is. His blood will never lose its power.

Jesus, our redeemer, as the name implies, never brought shame to humanity, neither did it bring shame to the Father. He died ignominiously, not because He was disgraceful but because of our transgressions. Isaiah 53: 5. Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and is sit down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12: 2.

What strikes most is that He left His throne to be punished for salvation. The bible says greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friend. If someone gives me his life, what should I provide in return? The answer is “my life” together with love. Jesus said if ye love me, keep my commandments.

What are His commandments? 1. Love God with all your heart, soul, and with all your mind, and love your neighbour as yourself. Matthew 22: 37 - 39.

Chapter three

Jesus, in His ministry, talked about the end time. He emphasized it by speaking in parables. Jesus likened the kingdom of God to the ten virgins. Five of them were wise, and five of them were foolish. The wise ones took extra oil for their lamp while the foolish ones didn't. While the bridegroom delayed, they laid down to rest until midnight. There was a shout, "The bridegroom is coming! Come out and welcome Him". All the girls jumped up and trimmed their lamps. Then the five who hadn't any oil begged the others to share with them, for their lamps were gone out. But the others replied, "We haven't enough, go instead to the shops and buy some for yourselves". But while they were gone, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with Him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. When the other five returned, they were disappointed.

In Ecclesiastes chapter 12:1-7 the preacher gives vital warning, warning that should not be overlooked.

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”—

(2) before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; (3) when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim; (4) when the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs grow faint;

(5) when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets. (6) Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well,7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. NIV

Jesus also warns against ignorance. Say not ye, there are yet four months and then cometh harvest? Behold I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the field, for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35. He also requested that we pray to the God of the harvest to bring more labourers for the harvest.

In the days of Noah, there were eating and drinking, marrying and giving into marriage etc. No one gave heed to what Noah said until the rain came down and consumed them all except Noah and his family. So shall the coming of the Lord be.

The time is far spent, and we have not much time left. No wonder Jesus said, "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work". John 9:4. There is a time of night for everyone when it will be too late to do the works that the Lord has assigned to us. 'And repentance and remission of sins should be preached in the name of Jesus Christ among all nations Luke 24: 47.

Jesus also put us as stewardship. The parable of the ten talents is one leading and essential parable of His time. This shows that we will have to stand before God one day to account for how we spent our lives on earth.

Jesus Christ also demonstrated the power of God on earth by healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons and many more. He said what He meant and meant what He said. He ministered with signs following. He did what we know today as (theory and practical). Jesus in His days never gave glory to Himself, he always gave credit to His father.
